Magnesium is amazing and helps the muscle aches and makes you sleep better.

Oh, that's a lot PP. You need to drop your BMI further to see if it is really the effects of peri.

I think people that say this haven’t had the worst symptoms. Count yourself lucky if you’re not that desperate. OP I recommend hrt but I also do all the lifestyle things too like giving up alcohol and I don’t always know if people should be taking hrt that aren’t also willing to make some pretty radical life changes and be good candidates for it. It help with energy but isn’t a magic pill - you need to kinda do everything.

Check iron levels - I had low iron and I was exhausted. Taking iron really helped.

My Dr will not prescribe HRT until yu have met three criteria: Period and symptom tracking for at least 3 months, cut out alcohol, and start working out with cardio and weights 150min a week. You have to do this for 3 months and sched a follow up.

Not OP, but I think this might be my problem. How much iron did you take for how long? What was your goal ferritin level and how long did it take to get there?

That actually sounds like a great protocol. Were you thinking it was a problem? Three months is not that long to wait… A lot of doctors book that far out anyway. The rest of the things she’s requiring you to do are the right call.

ok, but: instead of HRT, maybe she will be willing to prescribe low-dose T instead?

It has been a game-changer as far as increasing my energy and curing brain-fog.

I had a bit more to lose than you but going on a GLP has actually upped my fatigue level despite helping quite a bit with weight loss.

Over the past 6 months I’ve lost about 30 lbs, going from a BMI of ~29 to ~24 but, while definitely happier with the way I look, on the whole I feel far more lethargic/low energy on a day to day basis than I did before starting the GLP.

Have bloodwork done including iron, vitamin D- I found out I was extremely deficient in both despite eating “healthy” and getting sunlight. Taking supplements of both really helped my energy levels. GLP-1 also helped to lose 30 extra pounds.

Hypothyroid? My legs felt like that also low iron fixed when tweaked with supplements and med
