Son extremely upset over Jerome Powell

If this isn’t a troll, then I would suggest you discuss the causes he cares the most about and channel them into some concrete action he can take. The worst thing anyone can do right now is spiral out emotionally without actually doing anything to support what they really care about.

In my case, I have very limited time. So, we have switched to a church with a much more social justice focus on local actions in our immediate community. They have a ton of structure in place for me to be able to volunteer when I can without having to commit to a schedule I really can’t meet.

Everyone has a breaking point when things pile up. This was likely his. I do agree with utilizing his anxiety/upset/anger into something productive. It'll teach him how to find an outlet when he feels helpless and frustrated.

Clearly, you don't have a 16 year old boy. I'm not the OP, but my son cares very much about what is happening right now. Are you not under the impression that they are told at school that they have to register for the draft?

I definitely do and the idea that a 16 year old who is described as having a “bit” of interest in politics is hysterically crying about Jerome Powell and needing to be dragged out of bed is absurd.

The absurdity is you thinking that everyone behaves and feels the same.

Football?!
Good lord. My kids discussed politics in high school classes openly, and economic issues, and still do so in college. This directly relates to his financial future if things unravel.

Read for comprehension, the troll OP described her kid as being mostly interested in football and friends, but suddenly is a hot mess and needing to be dragged out of bed over Jerome Powell. 🙄

Yup, teenage boys with minimal interest in politics (this is what is described in the OP) are definitely bawling and not able to get out of bed over Jerome Powell.

Oh ha - I actually didn’t have this as a troll given how deranged people act around here. But yea. Now I see it. Troll fail.

100 percent this.

This has got to be the dumbest troll attempt of a thread OP.

Your teen son, was bawling over Powell's subpoena, and didn't want to go to school?

WTAF? this is so dumb.

Exactly. My 16 year old son is very interested and involved in what is going on.

I don't support this, most teens in the DMV think is cool to be Liberals, and hate Trump for no reason.

Yes, because most teens in the DMV are not rasied by fascist like you. Thankfully!!!

They are educated, smart, informed and hate Trump for very well stated factual reasons.

I finally understand the stupidity of poor MAGA who like (no, salivate) to be the rug under Trump's feet.
