We’ve got property there and it’s so overdone / crowded recently during season. It was always bad but there are no words for the past 2-3 years.

My parents stopped spending winters there after 2020, and I haven’t been back. I can’t imagine it being even more crowded!

Isn’t walkable. Isn’t “tropical” in the winter.

Kiawah is very walkable, bikeable and has a shuttle system for going longer distances, through the resort. If you think Deer Valley to Park City is walkable….you are confused.

Park City has the free bus system, and there are bus stops right in front of the Deer Valley lodge. The lodge also has a complimentary Range Rover with driver to take you anywhere in city limits, on demand. The activity companies all come pick you up at the lodge. Transportation in Deer Valley/Park City is very very easy, flexible and cheap, and you’re not at all confined to your resort. No car is needed, and we Ubered from the airport.

What about Tybee Island (Savannah)? Haven’t been but it looks nice.

Could probably find a place on the Riviera Maya that works too. Or maybe PR or Vieques (although not much to do in Vieques).

We have a second house at Deer Valley. We walk all of the time. If you are at Lower Deer Valley, Old Town is definitely walkable. Not from Silver Lake or Empire, but a lot is. Plus they have a great free bus system.

No luxe properties in Vieques or Tybee, and service will be a letdown . Both definitely require driving around in a car to get to activities and restaurants.

Sea Island, but it really isn't warm until Easter. We usually get a car to drive from savannah or jacksonville but then rarely use the care once we are there. They'll drive you to the lodge for dinner or golfing, pick you up for the resort locations in a golf cart, etc, but we generally walk or bike around.

I don't know what kinds of things you are looking to do, but we felt very safe in Aruba. We stayed at a beachfront hotel in Palm Beach which is a very walkable area. We loved walking along the shoreline to restaurants for dinner a couple of nights. Unfortunately maybe not the best time to fly there with all the stuff going on with Venezuela.

Their budget is $800 a night. Sea Island is like 2x that.
