Beach Equivalent of Deer Valley/Park City vacation

Anonymous
A few years ago, my family had the best vacation staying at the Lodge at Deer Valley and enjoying that area and Park City.

Everything was so easy, beautiful and great service. Safe. No car was needed, we used the free hotel shuttle or the free city bus to get around, the town was so quaint and walkable. Tons of good restaurants, lots to do in the area. Easy to leave the resort and explore, day and night.

I’m in dire need of a winter getaway soon, and looking for a beach vacation with the ease and enjoyability of Deer Valley. Does this exist???

Easy local transport
No car required
Walkability preferred, Safe
Decent food options nearby/onsite
Good solid service
Interesting stuff to do

I’m open to an All-Inclusive, as that comes close. But I’m concerned about boredom and not being able to safely leave the resort. Are there any AIs near safe, walkable towns? Is Cabo a good option for this??

Budget is $800 max per night, looking to stay 3-4 nights.

Finest Playa Mujeres. Fly into Cancun, they pick you up, don’t need to leave site, beach and lots of pools, restaurants on site arent bad. Scuba diving available and other activities too. 3-4 nights is perfect. In your budget.

Oh, could also stay at a hotel in Palm Beach in your budget. It’s pretty walkable if you are close to town and lots of really good restaurants and the beach. I find the vibes to be similar to Deer Valley, but tropical.

But I’d like to leave the resort and explore, do some activities. Seems like it would get boring just staying at the resort after a day or so?? How is the nightlife at that resort?

Waikiki?

What about Old San Juan PR? Great small boutique hotels. Easy to walk around, lots of restaurants, easy to uber or get a driver to beaches or other parts of island.

Isn’t walkable. Isn’t “tropical” in the winter.

Kiawah is very walkable, bikeable and has a shuttle system for going longer distances, through the resort. If you think Deer Valley to Park City is walkable….you are confused.

Maybe Naples, depending on where you stay.

I’m not OP and haven’t been to Deer Valley. But I’ve been to Kiawah many times and we used our car a lot. It’s also not reliably warm until May-ish. Love it there.

What about Key West? We stayed at Southernmost recently and it was incredibly convenient. The only caveat is that it would be more of a “pool vacation” rather than beach as I thought Key West beaches were disgusting.
