It's not unusal to have a clear second top choice, hence the ED2. For kids who don't ED at all, does it mean they don't fall in love with any one school? No, they just love them all equally or else won't apply. |
| Top schools don’t do ES2. Just saying… |
Disagree. Chicago and JHU both have ED2. Top 10. |
They’re not true top schools. |
| Hopkins, Chicago, Vanderbilt, Bowdoin, Swarthmore have ED2. Not all top schools but strong schools. |
| Whoever invented ED2 was evil. It should be banned. As should be the obsession with "yield" so schools would stop playing all of these dumb games to optimize for yield to impress the idiots at USN&WR. |
Pomona and Harvey Mudd as well. If these are not the very top school, what are top schools? Jesus. |
Ivies. Duke. Stanford. Williams. Amherst. Grambling. Yeshiva. |
rage bait. Bye. Duke is still test optional. Columbia is still test optional. Okay? |
| We know people who have gotten into ED2 for LACS like Vassar and Middlebury - full pay, non-athletes with no hooks. I think it still helps vs. RD, because even though there's a stronger applicant pool, you're not competing with athletes, legacy, Questbridge, etc. |
What’s a true top school |
Totally agree. Seriously!! |
| Rice also has ED2. |
| You may find that some colleges have extended their ED II deadlines, so this may be advantageous to you. |
Ivies, MIT, Stanford, Caltech etc, those that are confident enough not to play the ED game or at least not the ED2 game. |
