Agreed. I’d bet on my kid choosing Michigan in the end, but I’m thrilled that now he gets to choose! |
| Agreed as well. I could have written the above. |
Did your kid apply EA or ED? |
ED |
| Did everyone whose kid applied EA to Michigan hear back today? |
|
|
It's so funny that everyone who applied ED got deferred for 2 weeks and now most have gotten into the school but it's no longer binding!!
Now that everyone spent their break being mad at Michigan and writing all their RD applications (which reminds you about all the other schools you liked) I wonder how many will actually choose Michigan in the end. Big miss by Michigan to mess up this ED admission so bad. |
Agree. What a complete screw up. |
Yes, this was a missed opportunity for Michigan. No kid (or parent) has enjoyed the last 2 weeks of essay writing marathon and if Michigan had its ish together, they should have locked in the ED kids that they were going to accept a mere 2 weeks later! |
| Anyone get a Michigan decision yet whose kid applied early action only (not early decision)? Wondering if this is just a case of Michigan overestimating its ability to respond to all the early decision applicants and so they’re getting them out of the way first. |
I saw several kids writing on Reddit about being accepted EA, not postponed ED |
| Would love any stats, GPA/SAT, major OOS, etc |
Probably. This is a first year learning curve. If you look at it from the school's perspective, these kids that had to wait are finding out 2 weeks earlier than EA last year and they will have the same amount of choice as last year. Theoretically your first choice wouldn't change if you had to wait 2 weeks. But of course it's good to have choices. |
Were you notified of the decision by email? Or did you just happen to check on the portal? |
Kid checked portal after hearing that more decisions were released |
