My sons have all loved Little Excavator by Anna Dewdney. Little Blue Truck is another good one. And Pete the Cat!

Going off the Virginia Lee Burton suggestion here, Katy and the Big Snow is also great, and should work for a typical four year old attention span.

Tops and Bottoms is a pretty easy read that works for most preschoolers. I read that to my daughter’s class a few years ago and it was popular. The story is structured in a way that makes it easy to understand.

Just stop. Obviously OP has a variety of books. Nothing wrong with looking for some with a little boy male protagonist. People ask this question for girls all the time.


OP here. THANK YOU! We read all the things but this is where we actually DON’T have enough of to make the collection more or less a nice mix.
