Dyson stick vacuum is nearly dead after almost 8 years. Replacement or try another brand?

Agree.

And I believe it is on sale at costco right now.

Do you live in DMV there is a Dyson repair shop near Merrifield. I got new main body and cyclone there. They can tell you if it is that. Might not be the battery. Mine just quit.

$399 as I recall.

Same. I think it’s more powerful than it ever was!
+1 Not only is ours more powerful with the new battery but it also sucks up bigger pieces than before.

Opted for a new Shark from Costco that isn’t cordless, but has a lift-away feature to make it more like a handheld or cordless vac. I love it, and it was less than half the price of a new Dyson stick!

So which model is that please?

Mine died and I was about to buy a replacement battery on Amazon, but as I was troubleshooting I found out I had never cleaned the filter in the center;I had only been cleaning the filter at the back. I took out the filter in the middle, cleaned it fully according to the instructions on dyson’s troubleshooting page, and my vacuum was good as new when I put it back together a day later.

I went there, the DMV has faster service and my cable company had better service.

They don't sell parts or batteries there. Only repairs.

Absolutely not true. I was there this summer and they sold me a new main body/cyclone. Dyson was out of warranty. I called and asked if they had them because online was out of stock. They did.

I bought my Eureka vacuum for $50 20 years ago and it still works as good as did on day 1.

You can order an adapter on Amazon that will let you use inexpensive batteries made for electric tools. They last longer than the original battery ever did.
