Forgot to mention: IU also has a better football team than ND. |

I need to take a break, this place is exhausting.
Why can’t a person just write something positive that might be helpful to someone else without another person chiming in about what’s better (thanks captain obvious we’re all aware of rankings)or making an irrelevant point to be a contrarian for sport. I’m not OP for the record. |
It appears that there are a lot of bored students on break that have found their way here in the past few weeks. |
Agree with this. Also, given the size the school offers EVERYTHING. It’s important for your kid to be proactive if he goes there in order to take advantage of it all. |

| Every movie you guessed was filmed at Princeton was filmed at IU |

My family really enjoyed the week we spent on IU's campus for a high school theater conference. We have experience attending PSU, Pitt, and Michigan so are flagship types. My DH and DS1 both applied. They ended up elsewhere but we like to share our good experiences with the IU campus.
The performing arts venues and the student union are very nice facilities. Indiana gave my DS the most merit ($10K) for undergrad application, but we aren't in-state so overall it wasn't in the running due to OOS price markup. Same for my DH - better scholarship at Georgetown for grad school. |
ND also has around a 10% acceptance rate. Indiana, even Kelley , is a lot more attainable. |
Not all of us support systematic, known, continued child abuse, so ND is out for a lot of us. IU is a better fit for someone who wants to study business and has a moral compass. And no, ND is not prettier. At all. |
Lol knew this was coming. You have your opinion we had ours. Live with it |
Dude give it a rest. Seriously. |
Agree. Obviously ND is the better university, however Indiana has a far more beautiful campus and charming walkable town. It’s a lovely spot! South Bend is so depressing. |
| My DS admitted to both last cycle chose neither. But each campus has its own beauty. Both good schools. UI and Bloomington is a very nice area |

Isn’t it funny how a person can say I like IU, and then someone pipes in and says ND is way better. Annoying, but okay and people move on.
If someone says I like UVA, and then some says (insert Ivy/10) is way better. Outrage over elitism. |

One thing your S should be aware of--Greeks are strong at IU, stronger than you might think from the percentage of students who belong. My impression--which you should check because my familiarity was a long time ago--is that the percentage of Greeks is higher at Kelley than in the university as a whole. From what I've been told, there are certain frats that are open to OOS students and others that aren't.
I don't want to get into a debate about Greek life in this thread. I just think someone interested in IU should be aware of their importance there. See https://studentlife.indiana.edu/involvement-belonging/sororities-fraternities/index.html |
