| Kid has not got in St Andrews yet. If he does, sure, go St Andrews. But for now, stick with the conversation at hand. Miami vs Pepperdine. Both schools have a ton of wealthy students. If studying business and he wants a career in the west coast, then Pepperdine probably a better choice. If East Coast, then Miami a better choice. I dont think there is much difference academically between these two. Pepperdine was ranked higher than Miami for decades until the most recent USNWR change in methodology. |
| If he's already visited Miami and Pepperdine, take him back to both for a second visit. My DC was going to ED to one school and had been deciding between two schools. I thought we should go back for one more visit since it's such a big decision. Thank goodness that second visit allowed for another look and just a general gut check. DC picked the second school instead! It's worth making the effort. |

Thanks to the two PPs who noted that only ED acceptances have been released from Miami.
Which would mean the OP is considering lying or cheating to break a contract so they can attend a Christian school. So winning! |
Don't be meta. Just focus on the question. |
Nobody likes a lying OP. |
You say that but more than 50% of posts here are total bull crap. |
| Ppl will def have very specific opinion of your kid if he goes to Pepperdine. He may be fine with that, but he should be aware. It’s not Hillsdale but still…. |
The above comment was unnecessary & unhelpful. Hypotheticals are permitted; posts like this generate meaningful discussion. |

How can posters have meaningful discussions (as in poster take their time to contribute to a discussion) when the OP is fake. And to add onto that, this exact comparison has been done plenty of times in the college form. No need to rehash this topic of a comparison between Miami and Pepperdine (also sometimes with Tulane thrown in) for a fake OP when you can just do a search. This thread should be locked. |

OP is not fake. ED at Miami, EA at Pepperdine. Why do you can to focus on OP’s ëthical behaviour? What a Karen.
They both have decent business programs. Pepperdine used to be more elite than Miami. But I dont think that is still the case. Miami has done a good job academically catching up. But if your kid prefers small classes, Pepperdine is the way to go. For international studies the focus is different. Pepperdine has a DC program and Miami is more Latin America focused. If your kid gets in St Andrews and prefers IR, then it is a no brainer…. |
OP said DC was admitted to Miami which means ED which means they’re committed to going to Miami. End of story. There is no other choice. So why the thread? |
It's not being a Karen to decline to enable unethical behavior and to warn others of the same. |
You know? Yet you encouraged your kid to apply. Fool |
No hell no. Who pays for college that you don't get a job when you graduate? Economics in Florida dying day by day by day there will be no jobs. |
