How many alcoholic drinks do you have a week?

Anonymous
All in, about 10 glasses of wine a month -

I will drink 1-2 glasses of wine at home about twice a month.

I have a glass of wine when I go out to eat, about 2x/month.

Once a month, I go to a wine dinner party and drink 4-5 glasses of wine.

Usually none but I had almost a dock a day while staying with my inlaws over the holiday

55 years old; I have a couple of glasses of wine at family holiday dinners 2-3 times yearly - other than that I haven’t consumed alcohol for the last decade.

I tax my liver enough with an on again, off again addiction to sugar, so decided some time ago to eschew alcohol consumption. Also as I got older I found it just made me feel lousy in the aftermath and recovery was taxing.

Usually about 6 drinks in a week. And that's down from 2 drinks/night so I actually feel pretty good about it! After a wetter than normal December, I'm kind of excited about dry January.

I would say over the course of the year, probably 1-2 drinks a week but I don't drink every week. Sometimes I won't have a drink for months but then might end up drinking a few times in a week at another point.

I’m not your PCP so you can be honest.

What's the point of this thread?

And why is someone doubting a poster who replies "zero?"

Still zero.

At my peak, 2-3 canned cocktails per night. These days, I only drink on special occasions.

Zero

Recognizing the harmful impact of the carcinogens in alcohol, wine, etc. I essentially gave it up. I only have a drink (usually not even the entire drink) on vacation or at certain social events (wedding, big party, etc.).

Now if only I could go cold turkey on sugar ;0)

Perhaps they're drunks who can't stop drinking.

OP just wants to get a sense if their drinking is "normal."

Not sure. I have 2 to 3 a year. What does that work out to?

What defines a special occasion these days? How many special occasions per year?

Sounds weirdly judgmental. I’d say it shakes out on average to being one to two occasions per month in which I have one to two drinks. I had a company party once this month and celebrated getting an new job that doubles my pay. Hopefully that’s acceptable to you.

None for health reasons. But you could have one and not three per session. That part’s weird - why not have one martini? Even when I did drink, I had one cocktail. If you are looking to cut back, that part’s easy.
