Yet another thread where rich old ladies think their money and their selfishness somehow trump biology.

Yes that IS old by DC standards. It's too damned old to have a baby, especially even you already have kids.

Stop it with your judgement. I'm the PP who had a first at 25 and tried to get a third in my 40s. I can afford it, and I have all my wits about me. People are more capable than you think.

You think this world with Anti Vaxers leading the way is a great place to bring a child?

Third in your 40's? So when that kid is 20 you are in your 60s fabulous parenting.

Having a kid is not only about money.

You are selfish.

You were lucky. Do you not know how lucky you were?

The stupidity on this thread is staggering.

Wait, what do you mean? I don’t think many of us used ivf to have 4th babies in our 40s. Biology trumped us!

Poster at 22:42 here.
Sorry, I misread your question.

I was 30; other kids were 6, 4, and 23 months

DP -- so you think all babies conceived naturally in one's 40s should be aborted? I don't understand your point here.

I'm 45 and probably would have an abortion if I somehow got pregnant now, but it would be a hard choice. I would never judge anyone for making another one.

Women have been having babies on their 40s for centuries.

Both my dad and his mother were born to women in their mid-40s. Before birth control this was incredibly common because women just had kids until they couldn't anymore. It's weird to suddenly decide it's selfish now?

Same PP for me and many others. I was 39 woth NY 6th miscarriage that almost took my uterus. My hail Mary was a reproductive immunologist (Dr. Jubiz) and at 40 I had #3. There was zero discussion on a 4th. I was done and so was my body.

I'm 57:

1st & 2nd kids (twins) - 24
3rd kid - 26
4th kid - 29 (almost 30)

My mom also had 4 kids; she had them at ages 23, 25, 28, and 30. My DH's mom had 4 kids; she had them at ages 27, 30, 31, and 32.
