| My German relatives made a deliciously tender venison ragout, paired with homemade knödel, schwartzkraut, and spätzle. Normally I am not a big fan of German cuisine, but it was delicious. The knödel was made with breadcrumbs and no potatoes! |
| Candy cane christmas cookies my MIL made. |
| I had the flu over Christmas and the only thing that tasted good to me was the old fashioned Chex party mix recipe. |
| Eggnog spiked with maple cream liqueur |

Spicy curried jackfruit in a pastry. HOLY MOLY!
|
| I think the Homestead Farms eggnog. I have some left to enjoy tonight, too. Or maybe some linzer cookies with cran-raspberry filling. Other than that the food wasn’t especially delicious but very much enjoyed as it was shared with loved ones. |
Was that bought or homemade? I'd love to try it. |
| Lactaid egg nog is delicious. You have to get it when you see it because stores only get so much. Just needs some nutmeg...and maybe some rum. |
+1 Mexican wedding cakes I made. Delicious. |
Someone was telling me about this yesterday. Haven’t tried it yet but they thought it was amazing. I always make stuffed shells for Christmas dinner. This year I had a guest who won’t/can’t eat tomatoes. So I made half with a garlicky white sauce. I wasn’t sure it would work because sometimes white sauce separates. Turned out amazing - and everyone thought so. It was so good. |
Recipe? |
| Went out to a holiday dinner at Joon in Tysons. The grilled octopus was amazing. |
| Stuffed shells I made. And not gonna lie they were maybe even better cold the next morning. |
| Daughter made Tini’s Mac and cheese recipe. It was fantastic. |
It’s not Christmas at my house without Chex party mix. I have a recipe from the ‘70’s that was torn from a box. The new recipe isn’t the same. My family has eaten 2 large containers of Chex mix in a matter of days. |
