Because they are ill equipped financially and emotionally to take care of all their kids and rely on handouts. Having a large family is the new flex for the wealthy. Having just two kids is very middle class.

Or other evangelical fundamentalist families like the Duggars. They're millionaires for sure, but not billionaires. And a lot of their kids don't even talk to them anymore. He would have had 30 kids if he could have but biology doesn't accommodate what you think should be God's blessing to you. Or something.

I think the Duggars have to be legitimately closing in on 50 grandchildren.

See also Sister Wives families, a lot of those kids don't talk to their dad anymore and instead spread their family allegiance among their own bio moms.

Billionaires can do what they want, I guess, but it's no guarantee of any kind of family army who will fight on your behalf. Or whatever.
