Was recovery after second harder for you?

Anonymous
My sis in law had a hemorrhage with my second nephew and had a.much harder time as a result.

Remember that every body and labor can be different and there can be a lot of different factors.

I'm personally hopeful my second c section will be better. My first was an emergency when my son went into distress when I was pushing (he's absolutely fine now, thank goodness) and so having gone through most of labor and a c section sucked.

Short term recovery was easier. Long term was harder. I was 5 years older and it showed.

First was a c-section. Recovery seemed by the book, but it sucked. Took 3 months before I felt anywhere near normal.

Second was a vbac. The labor wasn’t easy, but the recovery was a dream. Was up and about that day and the weight melted off.

Agree with this. Also my second baby was much easier than my first so I could sleep a little which made a big difference.

Recovery from my third c section was by hard the worst of the three, even though the surgery was technically better. First two were unplanned, and the second took a long time because of scar tissue. Planned the third with high risk surgeons and it went well, but it was the first time I needed oxy for post surgery pain mgmt. ugh those post birth contractions when bfing are KILLER. that said, felt much better each week and was walking a good bit by 4 weeks out.
