| My name is Sara and my name triggers people's iPhones (Siri). |
| Sounds like Amazon Alexa. I like Alexandra nn Lexi the most. |
Eliza triggers Amazon Alexa every time. |
| I like both names along with Alexandra but could never use any of them as I hate the nn Alex. |
| Don't like either. |
Every other girl is named some form of Alexandra. Too common. |
Meh. That’s true, but there are great people who just have trashy names. Nothing is going to redeem Destiny or Brandy. |
| People will say Alexa like the AI tool. Choose different names altogether. |
|
Alexia? Are you serious?
I hate all these a-lex names because I love to read and I understand word origins. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK557669/ |

Not a fan of Alexia (it sounds made up to me, and as a school teacher it sounds like Dyslexia or Apraxia), but I like Alexis.
This year I have an Alexandra and an Alexa, one goes by Alex and one goes by Lexi, so lots of nn ideas. Just know that at some point she will be called "sexy lexy" by her friends as a joke. I hear it not infrequently. |
| I know an Alexia and she is always referred to as "Alexa." No one gets her name right. |
|
My daughter's name is Alexia. We were going to name her Alexandra until DH came across Alexia and decided that he liked it more. Ironically, she is the only one of our children that likes her name. Our other children have more classic names (Abigail, Rebecca, Samuel, Elizabeth) and dislike them.
We do not own an Amazon Alexa, so that has never been a big deal to us. I think that issue is somewhat overstated. |
| When I think of trashy names, I think of names like Nevaeh, Crystal, Destiny, Jaxon, Kinsley, Braxton, Hunter, Diamond, Heather, etc. Alexis does not even cross my mind. |
Heather?? That one doesn't seem like it belongs on the list. It was super common at my high school in the 80s, so must have been popular in the late 60s. |
That one is more of a personal connotation (based on the people that I have met) rather than a widespread view. I have met multiple trashy Heathers (along with Kaylas and Briannas/Breannas/Brianas). |
