Those comments make no sense.

I guess that PP thinks she should get her full investment back if something goes wrong. Choices were made though.

Watch "This is Going to Hurt" on Netflix. Amazing show. I binged it. Relevant to this.

I know we debate all the time about tort reform here.

Wrongful death by NHS providers and services = 100K for a 1 year old that died of sepsis.

If it were my 1 year old? I spent 60K alone on IVF to get him here. We've spent 30K on daycare. Not to mention the cost to "carry" him is around 150-200K if I were a surrogate.

It's at least 100K just to get a baby earthside. As a settlement it seems like a slap in the face. Am I wrong?

I think 300-500K seems more "reasonable"

Those were your costs in the US, right? Presumably they would have been less in the UK. If you qualify for IVF, it's covered by the NHS, right? At least that was my understanding, but it might be outdated.

And daycare - how long would your family leave be? My colleagues in the UK are out for a year after they have their babies.

NHs doesn’t cover that.
Most white collar workers also pay for private health insurance via work- both sides pay for both. That’s why it’s very costly to hire or grow a company via adding fulltime wage labor in the UK/EU. So they don’t.

Why would taxpayers pay you want you “want.” There are fixed and agreed payouts for everything in national health systems. Private you can go to court, pay lawyers, and try to negotiate.

Sepsis and bacterial infections are everywhere in hostile- the elderly and babies should always be wary.

Wanna guess how many elderly knee replacement patients get infected? Die vs recover?

Thats like saying you want a big payout if your wife dies because she had 100s of thousands worth of plastic surgery. It's sick.

I wonder what happened to OP. I really don't understand where she's coming from on this one.
