If this happens, they wouldn’t be killed as babies. They would be raised until an age that their organs would be useful.

Most of the abuse of surrogacy is the much more common case you are talking about: rich women exploiting poor women.

There is speculation (probably with some truth) that some of the babies that result will eventually be executed and harvested for organs, once out of the US. The babies leave. The surrogates stay.

China has had a robust black market for organs for some time and there was known prisoner organ harvesting going (may still be going on). It is not inconceivable that some of these babies will end up dead for that purpose.

I have no idea where these posts on this thread are coming from, but they're stupidly fantastical and no one with any common sense would believe any of this scenario.

It is easy to pretend that the organ harvesting situation is fantastical (and it likely is most of the time, although the point about the organ harvesting market in China is accurate; that market of course exists), to avoid the larger point which is that surrogacy as practiced in the US is an abusive and exploitative horror show.

There is a reason surrogacy is banned in nearly all other countries. You don’t even have to talk about organ harvesting.

Surrogacy and adoption are usually very well-planned out venues to parenting. You don’t do it randomly. You have to be able to have the funds to do the legal paperwork and maybe egg harvest or not.

Paris Hilton did surrogacy. Her kids look happy and well-cared for more than 99% of other kids. IDK about other celebrities but whatever. It’s not my business.
