Yes, cutoff depends ENTIRELY on school. A 136 is very high--like the 99.5% ile nationwide, so that likely will be good at most schools, just based on national percentile and where cutoffs have fallen. That said it might be higher (closer to 140?) for the handful of very high-performing schools in the system. And it will be much lower at the lowest-performing FCPS schools. There are probably a few schools at the opposite end of the spectrum where scores in the mid 120s will get in. |
| We are in pool at one of the more competitive schools with a 138 NGAT. |
| We are in pool at a competitive center school with a 131 NGAT. |
| Did anyone get the screening email from Westgate ES? |
| In pool, 135 composite NGAT. Good but not great neighborhood school. |
| For those wondering, I got a text saying to check my email for a message from the AAP office. |
| In pool w/137. What is known as a good ES but not one of the tippy top few. |
| Does universal screening email mean the student is in the pool? The kid got hight scores (NNAT 160, NGAT 159). I was busy and did not fill out the parent referral, should I do it over the weekend, just in case? |
Yes, it means your kid is in the pool and will be screened no matter what. |
| Do all the emails go out at once? |
I don't know but mine had a time stamp of exactly 12:00 PM. |
mine too, both text and email. |
Yes. Several friends of mine got the same email at same time |
| Maybe 140 is the cutline. My kid got 135 NGAT. I didn't get the message from the FCPS. |
There is NO universal "cutline" across FCPS. The "cut" depends on the school. The line is going to be considerably higher at schools that have a high-performing student body compared to schools that are lower-performing. |
