Countries boycotting Eurovision over Israel's participation

At this point it's going to turn into another FIFA Peace Prize, except an Israeli jew is going to win every year.

Swiss Eurovision champion Nemo returns winner's trophy to protest Israel's inclusion

Swiss singer Nemo, who won the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, said on Thursday that they will return the winner's trophy because Israel is being allowed to compete in the politically troubled music competition.

In an Instagram video, Nemo held the microphone-shaped glass ornament and said "Today I no longer feel like this trophy belongs on my shelf."

"Eurovision says it stands for unity, for inclusion and dignity for all people," Nemo said, adding that Israel's participation, given its conduct of the war against Hamas in Gaza, shows those ideals are at odds with organisers' decisions.

you know the fact they're allowed in eurovision is basically an admittance that they're a european settler colonial entity. it's just white supremacy. No one genuinely thinks that European Jews are more indigenous to Palestine than the human beings actually living there, but the human beings living there are brown so we don't mind a little genocide, just like how most of the world was fine with the Holocaust back before Jews became white.

The organization in Israel that runs Eurovision there is Kan which is the public broadcasting system. Just like Trump hates NPR and PBS so does Netanyahu hate Kan and wants to weaken it.

So boycotting Israel’s participation in Eurovision hurts Kan. The ultra conservative religious groups in Israel who support Netanyahu are watching Kan. It is if PBS/NPR we’re sponsors in the US if a worldwide contest and US participants could attend because if Trump.

There is a bigger issue of why other countries want Israel out and it has nothing to do with Gaza. It had to do with how the think public voting was rigged for the Eurovision final so Israeli contestants got way more votes from people calling in.

Currently Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands are currently boycotting the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.

If the list continues to grows it will be just Israel in the contest lol, which by the way I was unaware was part of Europe and not the M.E.

Come on France, UK, Germany, and Italy. You too can put your money where your mouth is and boycott.

Keep politics out.
Keep genocide in.
Got it.

Thank you conscientious defender. /s

You realize that this constant performative, self-righteousness (hiding massive insecurity) does not win anyone over to your cause, but that's obviously not the point.

NP. I am glad everybody is boycotting this until Israel stops the genocide. They need to be isolated until they are shamed into changing their ways.

Gen Alpha and Zoomers are already done with Israel. You're never going to change their minds because they grew up watching a genocide. We're just putting out the truth to move the timeline ahead a little bit. Better touch up on your Russian and/or Mandarin because your economy isn't strong enough to last a week without a sugar daddy.

"Everybody" is not boycotting Israel. Then again, the more countries that boycott Eurovision, the more likely the show will fail, putting thousands of people out of work and costing billions of Euros (and other currencies) in revenues. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Countries are free to boycott if they wish. Interestingly, many of the wealthy from those same countries go to Israel for advanced medical care. Likewise, millions of people in those countries boycotting are using technology invented in Israel and will continue to buy such technologies. Talk is cheap.

To the contrary. Israel didn't always have a "sugar daddy". In fact, the U.S. didn't provide military or financial aid to Israel during its war of independence in 1948-49. While the U.S. has supported Israel since then, there were numerous political reasons for doing so. You might disagree with those reasons, but since you're neither the President nor a member of Congress, you don't get to shape U.S. foreign policy.

Exactly, that's why Ellison and Co were so desperate to take over TikTok and CBS. And why Netanyahu is paying $7000 to influencers to shill for Israel. And why Israel has increased their Hasbara budget to 700 million plus. And why they are planning to bring more than 10,000 church leaders to be brainwashed in Israel. They're desperate because world opinion is turning against them for their terrorist genocidal ways.

I still don't understand why Israel is in Eurovision. Why not Lebanon?

Because Lebanese citizens are actual semites. But this explanation complicates why the Turks and the Moorish Iberians are allowed to participate. Gotta love European exceptionalism.

Next Islamic terrorist attack in the US (hope there isn’t, of course, but realistically speaking . . .) will turn the tide away from Islam for a bit, I would think?
But who knows? Keeps the world interesting, I guess.

Isn’t it shitty that nobody will be able to actually know whether it was an “Islamic terrorist attack” or a fugazi Zionist one?

That’s the unfortunate byproduct of being a culture so indelibly associated with dishonesty …
