Countries boycotting Eurovision over Israel's participation

Today Iceland joined the growing list of countries boycotting Eurovision over Israel's participation.

Currently Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands are currently boycotting the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.

If the list continues to grows it will be just Israel in the contest lol, which by the way I was unaware was part of Europe and not the M.E.

It really isn't fair for the artists from those countries that don't get a chance to participate. Keep politics out of it.

Same happened to Russian artists in the US when Russia started the Ukrainian invasion. They had dates to perform here and the US canceled them. Mm

The US politicians made laws to make that impossible. By law you are not allowed to not invest in Israel or boycott any Israeli products.

Eurovision’s biggest sponsor is Moroccanoil, which is an Israeli brand. They have leverage to prevent getting the Russia treatment.

If you're not letting Russia in due to Ukraine, letting Israel in was hypocritical. Israel was previously suspected of voting manipulation; curious how a country with a mixed-at-best international reputation dominated popular voting.

The artists who would have represented Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands are colonial settlers? They are fine with loosing out in a huge opportunity to promote their bands?

Boycotts work, just like they did in South Africa.

Apartheid Israel and its people will soon come to realise they have been isolated from the majority of the world because of their atrocities and crimes against humanity.

And let's not forget Israel was one of the few countries not to boycott South Africa. Hmmm, I wonder why.
