Discovery preparing to tell shareholders: Back Netflix deal over Paramount WBD, the massive media conglomerate that owns HBO, CNN and a number of other top brands in news and entertainment, is preparing to advise its top shareholders to reject a bid from Paramount to buy the company and back a planned deal with Netflix instead. The decision, which was reported by multiple news outlets on Tuesday, comes after Paramount announced a hostile bid to buy the entirety of the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio, including its linear television assets like TNT Sports and CNN. |
