Pillivuyt in white. Several styles (dots, basketweave, other) of all white exist. There are seasonal sales, with significant discounts, so step 1 is to sign up for their emails.
One of the few china sets where the California "harmful substance" warning notice is not needed - this applies to their white China sets; not sure if it also applies to their colored China sets. |
| Royal Copenhagen is our daily tableware. |
| I recommend buying one plate and seeing how it works in your dishwasher... bought a complete set of dishes for 12 from pottery barn that were so impractical in the dishwasher... too big and they wouldn't stand up in the rack. I got open stock from Target that are also white with dots and love them. |

I agree with getting one if buying online.
See what's up wrt weight, size. I got 2 sets of these a couple of years ago. They are good size, don't chip, but OMG they are sooooo heavy! https://madeincookware.com/products/tabletop-set/essentials-white |
Yes. Why is it that they hold up better? |
Absolutely have. I had 17 people in the house post-Thanksgiving this year, and everyone was sick to death of keeping up with the plates/cups/glasses, so we eventually switched to paper. |
| All of ours are Crate and Barrel. Hitting about 15 years and only 1 plate has a small chip. |

I have a set of 12 place settings from Crate and Barrel Aspen for 15 years for every day use.
I have also have 24 plates that I use for large gatherings. |
Pillivuyt is excellent quality. Their designs are perfect for both daily use and nice dinners when you get out the silver snd crystal. I have sets of inherited china sitting in cupboards because, frankly, I like my Pillivuyt better. |
