As I approach the new one year mark, I had cramps yesterday, was feeling off, had some spotting and woke up this morning to a full period. Freaking out. I made an appt for late next week so i am now in waiting mode, doing a lot research and scaring myself.

This happened to my friend 3 years in a row: one period a year until it finally stopped.
Yeah. Things don’t just end like clockwork

Op same thing happened to me last week. One year post menopause and started a full period with cramps and bleeding. I am taking a GLP1 and have lost about 20 pounds. I am going to ask my GYN if that could be related but I don’t expect they are up to date on GLP1s yet.

My guess, fibroids. When you see your doc, they'll probably recommend an ultrasound and some other tests, but it doesn't mean you'll need a hysterectomy. Please do keep us posted, and good luck

Going though the same thing. Just crossed over the 1 year mark and now have spotting, some cramps... Yes I am going in to have an ultrasound!

I had this happen, it was for all intents and purposes a period, pms-sore boobs, cranky, then 3 days of period like bleeding. this forum reassured me that it is not uncommon. I did see my gyn and get an ultrasound and was reassured that this happens. Do a search for rouge period.

I’ve heard it’s common after a year. I think 2 years is different

Yes, but once you have gone 12 months without a period, perimenopause is over. OP is in menopause, when any vaginal bleeding needs to be checked out, ASAP.

The thing that sucks is that women can have phantom periods during perimenopause and barely notice. Gyns mark the last period where you could fill a pad as your last period. I have had phantom periods: cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, moodiness, cravings and only traces of blood and then a few months later, a whole period. Op likely had phantom periods in the last 2 years which went un noted because they didn't make the mark to count as a period. In my book, her menopause countdown starts over with this cycle. But, yeah, get checked out just in case.

Op here. I have had 2 years with no bleeding. None.

I saw my doctor today. Ultrasound is booked and a referral is in to a gynecologist. My doctor says I need a biopsy. That freaked me out for a while today. I have constant pressure, cramps and bloating.

If there is any concern at all I am asking for a hysterectomy. I haven't needed those parts for over 20 years anyway.

As I said: 2 full years of menopause. No bleeding at all. No cramps, no pms symptoms, full menopause after probably 10 years of perimenopause.
