Strange GLP Question

I am actually three pounds UP because the first two weeks the nausea made me crave non-stop carbs. Sorry to be a downer. But after two years of debating taking a GLP-1, I finally did it and it is not working. Trying to remain hopeful that it will kick in at a higher dose. But I have heard it just doesn't work for a small segment of people and I just feel like with my luck, that is probably me. Send slimming thoughts, please.

What are you taking? Brand and dose?

Compounded semaglutide. .4 mg, I believe. And maybe that is the answer. I have serious medical anxiety. DH has been in favor of me trying this, but wanted me to go to the doctor. I was afraid. We finally agreed I could try an online provider for three months but then I have to go to the doctor. Maybe the real stuff will work better.

I'll be honest, I don't understand the ins and outs of the differences between compounded and "regular" GLP, but I do know that people have better success with one type of GLP over than another so it's very possible that the compounded formulation isn't a good match for you. It's also possible that you are one of the people for whom it does not work :/ What you are doing right now isn't working so you either throw in the towel on losing weight with the help of the shot or you need to put your big girl pants on and talk to the doctor.

I'm also on compounded semaglutide, and you just need a higher dose.

I've lost 30 lbs and my bras are HUGE. I'm on the first hook and the cups have lots of room. My stomach, on the other hand, as huge as ever. I'm also down two pants sizes.

A lot of people don't lose weight until they increase their dosage. What does your doctor have to say about this?

I'm one of the lucky few that loses slowly on the lowest dose, but I have a friend who didn't lose until she increased her dose twice.

My feet. Which weren’t big at all.
My shoes all feel loose.

I lost a total of 30 pounds, which included 3 inches off my bust, but those inches didn’t start going down until I was already 20 pounds down. I lost from my stomach first, then stomach and hips, then bust.

So you were 144 with a BMI of 22.6, well within the normal range, and you took drugs to lose weight?

Yeah. For some the meds take time.

I’m on Zep prescribed by my doctor ..
At the three month mark is when I noticed the weight loss

Best of luck to you
