University of Maryland also teaches linear algebra before multivariate calculus. It's a better approach. |
| Public schools do. Free of charge. |
Will your kid already have taken Linear Algebra? If not, that is the better foundation before Multivariable Calculus. |
DP. My kid's school offers both, each for a semester. |
Perhaps. |
| Sidwell admin probably doesn't want kids forsaking other subjects to do that much extreme more math, at the level of depth that Sidwell teaches. |
Gonzaga also offers multivariable CALC and Linear Algebra. My son loved this experience at Gonzaga. Our local high school doesn't offer either. |
is this Gonzaga? My son took both senior yr. |
Most don't offer both - there aren't enough advanced kids to offer this level of math. Facts. |
It's a joint class with Landon (all taught at Holton). |
No, not a Catholic school |
| Our school (St Andrew's) alternates each year between teaching linear algebra and multivariable calculus. Maybe Sidwell does the same and that's why you don't see it? |
| Multivariable calculus is not that freaking hard. You could teach it at the same time as regular calculus if you wanted to. |
Not this year. |
Why? Do students take both? Or get pushed into one based on even/odd grad year? |
