Anyone going to Nations Best Tournament this weekend?

So it's not worth your kid's time but it is worth your time to come on here and complain about a program you are not a part of?

Nobody cares about national teams on the girls side.

Sounds like someone's kid didn't make the team. DD loves her MD Select team and her coaches.

The team was made up of mdu, hw, and the bottom half of sw, if you can catch you made that team. Lmao

DD team is mostly made up of MDU, HG, MnD Black, and BLC?

Was talking about the 29 team.

You still sound like a bitter parent whose kid got cut. The girls are having fun, making new friends, and got to spend a few days in warm-weather.

National type teams are actually on the rise for girls: MD Select, Southern Stars, etc.

Those teams are not good. If they played cap blue, coppermine, heros, m&d, or any top team they would get curbstomped. Southern Stars went 0-3 down there, even a horrible shipyard team (#49) got a win in that bracket. I get justifying sending your kid, but it is laughable if it is bc of the competition. Fun and sun and friends, sure; but those teams are bad.

Definitely. Took me less than 30 seconds, cost me $0, and the OP was asking for opinions on this money grab.

If you've never done it then you really don't have a quality opinion. I'd rather hear the opinion from someone that has done it.

Check a NB or AS roster buddy, there are more talented girls out there than those who play on the teams you mentioned.

You will find that as the kids get older the less girls from top teams do this event. Case in point, the heros green 29 girls who did it last year didn’t this year.

Nah, wouldn’t waste my kid’s time. Those teams suck, there is no rise. If there was, the 2029 team would have been filled with CM, HG, and M&D players and not one of those kids on the roster would make it.

My dd has done both, those teams still stink at the 2029 level.

BBL Black #58
Shine Select Orange #62
Triumph Black #133
Beast Elite Green no ranking this year so far but #80 last year
MN Lacrosse Monkeys??? Wut? Lol
True National has a terrible roster, only the girl from SJC/MDU is any good.

🤮

As far as md select is concerned, which other good teams are represented???

Crazy timing i was just trying to convince my 30 to try out next year after i saw some IG posts about maryland selects winning big last weekend. But if that is the level of competition for the hs girls, no thanks! My dd will get better competition at local indoor leagues and bca 6s events. We will get down to florida this winter but im glad we wont be wasting the time at this event.

My 2030 had fun but the competition is pretty bad. If your kid plays in the NGLL A division, this is a huge step down.

There is more than one event for these National teams. A lot of the squads are also participating in Sandstorm and USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals.

The practices and the coaches for MD Select were worth it for my DD.

Same deal though, sandstorm’s competition sucks and the national teams get smashed at youth nationals. MD Select had a better 2029 team last year and they still got beat down by 91 roar and YJ. Their only win was against a horrible Mass Elite B team. But to each their own. Spend the money, take the trips, have fun.

I get doing this if your kid is going to GC and you want to kiss the coach’s butt, but all of that time, money, and energy to play at sandstorm and the national cup is wild.
Anonymous
I know nothing of md select or these other tournaments, but my kid was a guest player at sandstorm previously and the level of play was shockingly bad. About half of the 2029 teams didn’t have a player who could catch.
