Colorado College

CC has made tuition the same as state schools for eligible Colorado applicants and some surrounding states, I think they are doing good work to increase diversity including economic diversity

what do you mean harsh about Colorado? The college? The state? Why?

Still engaged with Frat Brothers and alumni. Two of our friend’s kids have gone, one a ‘24 grad and the other a current junior- both loved/love it.
For the right student it’s amazing.

No, it isn't.

Ok now you're really nitpicking. The block system is very rare. There are like 2 other schools that have it. And none as highly ranked as CC. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say it's unique.

Where's Colorodo? Is it a state?

No. Colorado is a state.

The school’s website describes its annual cost of attendance as $94k per year which gave us pause. It makes CU-Boulder ($64k OOS) seem downright affordable.

Try $99,608 when you include the health insurance. https://www.coloradocollege.edu/admission/financialaid/handbook/cost-of-attendance.html That may even be higher than USC

We visited and in our info session they were very clear that merit would not be more than $10-15K. DC loved it and I expect will apply next year. Campus was beautiful. Lots of really cool study abroad opportunities due to the block plan.

Then you need to look up the definition of the word "unique" because it definitely is a stretch.

here you go

Unique

being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else.

So PP is a moron

Whether Colorado College is the only school on the single course block plan or one of a tiny handful is really irrelevant to an assessment of the school. It's certainly unique in its combination of outdoorsy setting and block plan (Cornell College, in Iowa, can't compare).

Bluntly speaking, I do not know of any other two schools who enroll & produce as many total a-holes.

And I am not a kid & I have several decades of experience in this area.

If your kid comes from a wealthy family of liberals who accept drug usage & expect privileges, then he will fit in just fine.

The most prim and proper and extremely kind woman I know went to Colorado college. Liberal married to a career officer in the military. Salt of the earth.

Either you have found the exception or you don't know her well.

I do appreciate that CC does exist. If your parents are rich, then you get a 4 year vacation with a degree at the end.

Really nice for those with a time consuming hobby or interest such as skiing or weightlifting or chasing butterfly's, etc. The students have lots of free time & long weekend vacations at least every six weeks. But, what I detest about CC students, is that they never shut-up about how hard they work & how demanding the school is--which is total bs, but they are too stoned to know otherwise.
