| I'm not clear as to whether your D's friend attended the same school as D. If she did, then talking to the school counselor is an excellent idea. If she didn't, it's unlikely the counselor can do anything. If one of the other girls in this friend group and the missing girl attended the same school, maybe talk to that girl's mom and ask her if she would be willing to ask the school counselor. IOW, talk to the school counselor at the school the girl attended. |
| Maybe the girl doesn’t want to be found? At 14, my son had a mental health crisis and was in therapy for a bit. He abruptly unenrolled in public school because he needed to prioritize his health and then later, found a private school that was better. He deleted all social media and cut off all contact with previous friends and kids from his old school, his choice. Years later when he ran into an old friend they told him they thought he moved. |
I know a few kids this happened to, most didn't stop social media though. |
