maybe the school district is protecting those workers to we continue to have child care workers. |
This and they might live in areas with icy roads. |
Shut up, CO staffer. MCPS doesn't do crap for us. These are private child care providers that provide a valuable service for us, that we pay for at our own expense, that MCPS is forcing to close for no good reason. |
where is the child care? In the school? The one that MCPS operates? The one with heating and water and things that need to operate for the child care center to be safe? |
There is no danger that we're going to run out of childcare workers if they're asked to commute in the rain. |
it's so boring to suggest that anyone that doesn't complain as hard as you is a CO staffer. |
| It’s raining m, deal with it. My kids had school yesterday and have it today and we have 18 inches of snow. |
Oh crap now the heating and water is out too? At which schools? |
yes, treating people even more poorly surely will result in them wanting to take those jobs, which already have trouble finding consistent employees. |
the point missed you by a mile. |
Ooh, do the poor wittle child care workers need the heroic MCPS's protection from the scary rain? Go away, CO staffer. Iit is utterly out of line for MCPS to cost families (and child care workers) millions of dollars in lost wages by imposing a countywide decision on private child care providers who know their neighborhoods and their staff and should be able to make their own decisions just like any other private employer in the county. |
DP. Not sure what your point was if heating and water are working. Do you think someone is constantly fiddling with switches at each school to keep that on? |
LOL I'm not a county staffer. How much are the workers being paid for for their "valuable service?" Hint: peanuts. |
| Does maintenance have to arrive earlier than childcare to clear the roads, parking lot and sidewalk when there is ice? Could that be a factor in their decision? |
If your concern is treatment of the employees, that's an issue for the employer. Which isn't MCPS. |
