Way bigger than Vanderbilt. Same as Kentucky, Miss State.

Fixed it for you

Virginia has elite programs in a number of sports and is one of the top three academic institutions in the state.

Why the UVA bashing?

When is the last time a player was academically ineligible? I can't recall.

This would be awesome, due to the debates on DCUM about whether UVA is the 5th or 6th most prestigious school in the SEC.

Obviously would be behind Auburn, Bama and Ole Miss.

It is all turning into professional sports teams associated with universities.

They would never win consistently in football in the SEC. I also don't think they would make the league more valuable (unlike adding Texas and Oklahoma).

I don't think UVA would be welcome in SEC. VA Tech for sure though.

The SEC is interested in whatever school brings the most revenue, which is largely a football calculation. The Athletic did a rating of the top 25 most valuable football programs and UVA, UNC, and VT are not ranked. Florida State and Clemson are the two ACC schools in the top 25. However, Florida may not want Florida State, etc. All three schools know it is all about football and are pushing ahead with new hires and "investments". VT picked a bad time to have football decline.

UVA is having a good football year for and ACC team. There’s a big difference between beating a team like w&m or vt and those face by SEc and B10 teams. UVA is a good school, but it’s not a real football school.

Yep. Thanks NIL. Greed will always win.

ACC Blows at Football.

Can you imagine UVA in the SEC? They couldn’t even beat a 7-5 Duke in the ACC championship.
