Wednesday pre-Thanksgiving grocery store shopping

I went to Safeway this morning and it was pretty quiet. I went to Wegman's yesterday afternoon and it was steady, but they had plenty of food and were restocking things.

I was just at the Food Lion in Lake Ridge. Wasn't busy at all, and didn't even have to wait in line to check out. Maybe because it is a holiday it is busier at the "fancier" Harris Teeter up the road? I don't know.

Just got back from Giant - not that crowded and they were fully stocked. Checkout lines were very short. This is the latest I have ever gone for Thanksgiving and clearly I should have been going Wednesday afternoon all along.

I just got back from Wegmans in Tyson's and it was totally fine. They also had tons of pre-made sides and stuff, as well as fully cooked fresh turkeys so one could really start from scratch there. It was a little busy getting into the garage and parking, but the store and checkout were fine. My only issue was the crackers were a little picked over.

I was really sick Friday through Sunday, then between my kids, I had to attend 3 medical appointments on Monday, then my dog had a medical emergency Monday night. I got little sleep that night and was barely functional yesterday. Last night was still pretty rough with the dog. I’m just getting my kitchen clean and grocery shopping today. Thank God I’m only responsible for bringing two items to Thanksgiving dinner, both very easy to prepare. Maybe the grocery store won’t be bad this evening.
