Women don't join for the incel converts, they join for a random hot inherited Orthodox guy whose family demands it |

I was in Russia for a bit in the early 90s where my brother met his future wife, who was still a teenager. They married a few years later and while I don't remember any religion dominating her family at the time, they apparently banked hard into Russian Orthodoxy in the mid 90s.
The kind where they took a 2 hour metro journey each way as a family to get their Easter food blessed before it could be prepared. And something about stuff to do with my sister-in-law and their daughters and stuff they could or could not do while menstruating. I kind of forget, my late elderly mom just kind of passed on the stories. She might have been exaggerating but I'll never know. I have no contact with my brother and his family today. Probably for the best. |

I was raised in the Antiochian orthodox church. I currently attend a church in the Orthodox Church of America but my priest is 'retiring' and I do not like the one taking his place. I really looked hard for an orthodox church that was more liberal. The priest that took over the church in which I grew up is very traditional, has over 9 children and believes in homeschool. That church has taken a hard turn to 'orthobros' and it's really turned off a good portion of the non-converts.

| This is a new trend among the manosphere/red pill bros. They love anything that makes MEN the boss of women. A religion that subjugates women and elevates men? They are all over it. |
I’m not Christian but it’s a fact that Christianity and Islam and probably other religions call for men to be the heads of households. This issue isn’t specific to Christian orthodoxy. |
Yep—many religions, regardless of denomination, call for women to follow their husbands. If that’s the main draw, they have a lot of choices. |
| Othodoxy has its strong points, buy I converted to Hydroxy for the cookies. |
| All the evangelical dudes I know who recently converted to Catholicism did it for the patriarchal flavor. They all want a tradwife who isn't allowed to use birth control. So delightful. |
That is nice but Orthodox churches take no position on birth control. Once in awhile some old priest would give a sermon encouraging people to have kids but if you've been to a lot of orthodox churches no one really cares much about the sermon. |
Plenty of only-men-can-preach evangelical churches too. No need to switch. Hope this bros plan to make bank to support their broods. |
They honestly don’t need to leave Evangelical churches for non birth control. Most Catholics in the U.S. use contraceptives. There are far more evangelicals than traditional Catholics. They just dramatically narrowed their pool of women with the same views. I think these men are trolling you or you’re trying to troll DCUM. |
Most Catholics in the U.S. may use contraceptives, but they are sinning when they do it. |
Churches can say whatever they want but that’s not the biblical definition of sin. Nor does the Bible condemn contraception. |
No There is not one place in the Bible that says that They are not sinning the Bible says so! |
Nor does the Bible explicitly prohibit female clergy. |
