No one calls it sub cover. Teachers have a limit to how often they can cover. In the past we had to fill out a slip every day we covered the day of. |
No- more often someone needs to cover the front office. Elementary only has 2, so they would never pull one away to cover a class. If one is out and the other needs bathroom/lunch/break, someone needs to cover. Sounds like it might be different in middle and high schools. Both are wonderful in my school. |
Sounds like BE when my kids were there. Nasty mean old women who would put an "In a Meeting" sign on the desk for the principal All. Day. Long. so the principal was protected from the riff raff. Er, from the parents. |
| The culture of any school comes from the principal. You can tell right away how miserable or happy a school is by the vibe in the front office. How'd you like to work in close proximity to an a-hole all day long? |
| "racist" is a word that comes to mind |
Most are lovely and really helpful. One is angry and petty. |

Love ours at Clopper Mill in Germantown! They are both super busy but never act like questions are an imposition.

| Not very nice. I love a good firm no nonsense but kind front desk office. But ours is unwelcoming, acting like you need to read their mind and know all of their detailed and esoteric rules memorized even if you have never been informed of them. We were new to the district / school this year and felt quite unwelcomed. |
| Is it a high turnover job? |
