Among T20, Chicago is the most tolerant one if you are from a private school. Must ED.

No. Emory and UCs don’t count 9th grade. All ivies look at all four years

Stanford doesn't count it either.

Has anyone personally known a normal applicant who is not an Olympian or the next Zuckerberg get into Stanford?

Yes, you should search on here. There's a good old post.

Stanford doesn't officially count 9th grade GPA but when you look at the applicants from our private high school (year after year) they mysteriously take the kid who has the highest overall GPA (generally an unweighted 4.0 over 4 years) So I think they do recognize what happens in 9th grade in an unofficial way or when comparing kids from the same school to each other.

I confirmed this with our college advisor because my kid had a 4.0 10-12th but imperfect grades earlier and the head of college counseling was like, "yeah, no chance" for this reason.

What was the 9th grade gpa? Asking because my kid has 4 A- out of 14 total grades (7 each semester) in 9th grade.

Did your kid have straight As? Uw 4.0 all 4 years?

This is for unhooked —sports recruits don’t respond.

yes. Perfect GPA/#1 rank, near perfect scores, all 5s, awards at the regional level, multiple T10/ivy admits.

Doesn’t matter private school or public school. From private feeder schools, maybe one B or ar most two B+.

Kid applying this year from an academically rigorous private, with nearly all A pluses, and a few regular As. Three sports varsity athlete as well, although his leadership in clubs will be more important for college admission.
