| Williams is the best in Econ out of all LACs in terms of rigor and strength. |
If you own FL. real estate you are already cooked. That election isn't going to save you. |
Typical in this case means a top SLAC. Swat is called "where fun goes to die", Middlebury is known for the highest workload among the NESCACs, etc. but all of these schools are more similar than different because students at any top SLAC are driven, smart and they will be challenged because they can handle the load. They will be pushed because that it what happens when you are among entire populations that fir this profile. People constantly get on these forums and try to find differences where none really exist. |
I’m not sure Williams is the most rigorous lac for economics. It just spends a lot more on Econ faculty than other colleges. |
Quite the opposite, actually. |
A million Mamdani refugees are about to say otherwise, dork. |
Williams probably has the best Econ department for students who want to work on Wall Street or in consulting, although Amherst, CMC, and Midd aren't exactly lacking. Pomona and Swat probably have better Econ departments for students who want to pursue academia or policy, although all the schools above are excellent. |
Please explain exactly why you believe that when the actual data shows that at the top dozen or so schools the academic profiles for the students are virtually identical. Or why the largest correlated factor in the schools ranking is the size of their endowment? Why do you believe there is an actual difference? Point to something. |
| Agree, Haverford, Swarthmore, and Wesleyan are complete liberal lefties! |
| Avoid Haverford & Wesleyanunless the student is super woke and cares more about social warrior issues than about academics & a career. |
No-one cares. |
Apparently OP does ! |
No…they don’t. They asked for people to not talk about wokeness. |
NP Florida real estate is down 3-4% ytd. You better hope ny-ers move there. I doubt it. |
Haverford parent here. Yes, it has kept its rigorous reputation and continues to be an intense, grade-deflated LAC. |
