Just shut the hell up. Tech does not offer merit aid of any significant sense. It’s not a second tier liberal arts college.

I am so tired of this website it’s full of amateurs.

Til auburn is a liberal arts college.

it is NOT BINDING. You don't have to commit until May 1, just like all other universities, so you will get to compare FA and merit awards.

And yes, if you need to compare more than the NPC for your ED school (since you cannot read), then ED isn't for you. so you EA or RD (both are non-binding )

Ignore that Poster, because this is not about ED (which is binding), it's EA and anyone with a functioning brain can determine that is NOT binding. So you can compare the full financial package from Tech before committing. The PP is clueless

You are all so naive! This is VT's marketing shop trying to increase its yield numbers!. VT is notorious (like Chicago and Northeastern for using marketing techniques to climb the USNWR rankings. This has NOTHING to do with you and everything about bolstering VT's stats.

The VT admissions office is a mess.

Who cares? Everyone should have all apps done by today.

+1 my son just graduated from VT and even when when he applied they said regular decision was only if space is available.

Application submitted, one less spot available for everyone else.

Oh well. My kid was going to apply RD, but she’s pretty tepid about it. I doubt she’ll feel like squeezing out four more supplementals today.

This is not listed on their website.

This is a small sample:

"Regular Decision is looked at on a space available basis, so we encourage students to apply Early Action. We do not use first semester or mid-year grades in our application process, so students do not need to delay their applications to Virginia Tech."

UMD accepts 95% of entering class from EA, so don't think that's unique.

It’s common and becoming more so, at many schools.

How does this increase yield? It’s EA, not ED.

I think most schools are going to use EA and ED heavily this year because of the current administration (assault and bad press on colleges) and the awful economy…looking at job losses. They are going to want to lock down their freshmen classes early.
