Nah, it’s a great area and a good price for Moco. What I don’t get is how much people overpay for the W school districts. Way overpriced for what you get, and in no way competitive any longer with nicer areas around the country. But keep living in your fantasy.

Spoken like a pleb in a non-W MoCo school district. Houses west of Rockville Pike in Rockville/Potomac area in even the modest UMC areas are American dream type houses and W schools are elite. My neighbors here in Wootton cluster are construction executives and doctors, whereas people in most Silver Spring neighborhoods are like, teachers, nurses and accountants.

What awful, awful people!!

Idiot PP should be ashamed of themself.

Never said they were awful people. They just don’t make much money, and that’s OK.

Also I said most Silver Spring neighborhoods… I suppose Woodside is a little different. I just can’t for the life of me understand why folks with kids in that neighborhood wouldn’t just buy in a W school district, unless they send their kids to private, then MAYBE I get it. But still, being so close to sketchy DTSS as opposed to beautiful wooded neighborhoods within a short drive to areas such as Park Potomac and Pike & Rose is… curious.

What’s so great about Park Potomac or Pike and Rose?

Rockville/Potomac area is much further out from DC whereas Woodside is 20-30 minute drive from downtown. Also woodside is close to rock creek, sligo creek, CC and Kensington, so its close to plenty of beautiful neighborhoods.

Don't question it. They need these little digs at SS to live with their poor financial choices.

How old are you? You are so immature and ridiculous. You are seriously embarrassing yourself.

Pike and Rose is a mall with fake streets. It’s awful, like walking through a Cheesecake Factory. And I hate driving on 270.

Keep dreaming. Most of my neighbors in my nice SFH neighborhood in the area are lawyers, scientists, etc. Maybe not big law as much which these days means they have a heart and don’t cow-tow to daddy Trump. But you are probably one of those performative W liberals who think they are progressive but love the idea that other parts of the county aren’t as nice.

MoCo people, please, let's all get along, and save our scorn for the people who choose to live in NoVA.

This. Nice in silver spring is relative. Plan on private schools.

Nothing.

Willerburn Acres, Copenhaver, Rockshire = all way better than any Silver Spring (even nicer SS like Woodside area) neighborhood. And W schools.

This. I would despise sending my kids to those mediocre schools with a bunch of Mexicans. If I want diversity, give me the elite diversity like Asians/Indians that are prevalent in W school districts.

Do they teach hate in the W schools? Wait, you are all fake liberals. Lame.

Really confused by all the hate for Silver Spring and Woodside in this thread! I live in a nearby neighborhood and Woodside and North Woodside are very nice, safe, family friendly neighborhoods. The elementary school (Woodlin) has a great community and people in the neighborhoods are mostly happy with it. Of course we don't know what will happen yet with middle and high school due to the boundary changes that are slated but I know many people who have sent their kids to schools in the DCC and been perfectly happy with them. And yes, there are many teachers and nurses in the neighborhoods as well as social workers, government workers, lawyers, doctors, etc. But I guess I don't understand why that would be a problem.

Yes, the people who value safety and economic development. How’s that Georgia Avenue pedestrian tunnel for the Forest Glen Metro coming along? How’s the revitalization of Woodside retail on Georgia Avenue? Oh, I forgot, neither Metro or business owners want to invest any money in that area. Sorry. Have fun commuting to DC and VA for work because no one wants to invest any money or build any infrastructure in your county.

How’s that Purple Line coming along? What are the odds it actually is running by 2030?
