If it something simple like two transposed letters, the reader might not even notice it b/c our brains fill in mistakes/autocorrect when reading. If it's the wrong number of hours and it's egregious, the reader will realize it's a typo. However, it still won't get your kid's app tossed in the rejection pile. My kid had a typo in their first application that went to two safeties and an SEC school which people claim is harder to get into. Not only did they get into all three, but the SEC school tossed a nice amount of merit money at them. Correct the error for future apps, but just let it go. The people who are telling you to chill aren't being mean. It's for your own good. Trust those of us who have been there before.
