| DD submitted her first early action app last night. Planned to submit the rest tonight. But today she found a typo in the activities section today and is devastated. Is there anything that she can do? Could calling the school directly do anything? |
| Unless it materially affects the application, just fix it and move on. |
| A typo like misspelling or 10 hours of community service instead of 100? |
No, a stupid misspelling. Just one word. |
| Just move on from it, but fix it so the next one does not go out with the misspelling. |
+1 It’s very possible they (or AI!) will read through quickly enough to miss the typo. Don’t call attention to it by trying to contact the school. Just fix it for the next one. |
| But let collges know she did the work! |
She needs to chill. |
| Let it go. Don’t want to draw more attention. Just correct in common app going forward. |
How lucky you don’t find this week insanely stressful. Do you even have a senior applying to college? |
PP is right. You guys need to chill. The madness and stress is because of everyone gunning for the same top schools, applying to 30 colleges. It doesn’t have to be this stressful.. |
New poster here, but this week is the worst yet, stress wise. My DC also had a typo that she’s bummed about but is tiny and hopefully not going to matter. It’s just a rough week here. |

Tis the season. Already a thread about "mistakes"

| It won’t matter. Don’t draw attention to it. |
| I mean, to put a silver lining on it, it shows the college she IS a real person? |
