How about everyone picks a family photo and prints it out with an inexpensive frame?
You could put them up on the wall to look at all season. |
| We did matching track suits one year! |
|
It was a sad day when my older child said she was over the Hannah Anderson matching pjs tradition. (We only did them for the kids and they received them on St Nick’s day.)
Some good ideas for when our younger is no longer a believer. |
| My friends in Europe upwrap a bar of chocolate and a book. |
| You could have socks made up with a picture - all of you, the family pet, etc |
| What is it like to live in the Brady Bunch? |
| A couple years ago I found hand treatments at Target that were these ridiculous looking elf gloves. Lots of fun! |
This is classy but most Americans just want to buy more garbage for the landfill. |
I love this! |
| What about matching sweatsuits or comfy pants and matching hoodie? Something you could still lounge around in but isn't pajamas. I love the Vuori pants and sweatshirts and so does my husband. My daughters prefer Aviator Nation (which I also like) but they're $$$. |

I have a related idea built off the idea of "ugly sweater cookies".
I can't bring myself to buy ugly sweaters even though I find them funny. So I bought a cookie kit with a sweater cookie cutter. There are pajama cookie cutters out there. This could be a new tradition. https://flourbox.com/products/pajama-top-bottom-2pc-cookie-cutter-set?srsltid=AfmBOooYO7ViQZ172GbCGidB8LR0WEOVq8QTrK_7eizxVPH34FPhbl3a https://cutitoutcutters.com/products/pajamas-cookie-cutter |
Honestly, pretty amazing. A dozen years ago I probably rolled my eyes at things like this. We didn't do things like matching PJs originally when the kids were tiny. But after some horrific years of challenges for myself and multiple family members, I'm just so grateful those of us who are still here are here. I think my kids grew up faster in some ways because of what they went through and witnessed, so I'm thrilled that they can still get into playful things. I try to bring some levity into traditions to balance the dark times. |
Op again, that is adorable! An edible homage to the PJ s! |
+1 me too! Every time you use them going forward they will be associated with this festive happy memory. |
I like this and the track suits idea, too. Hoodies we'd definitely keep wearing and the kids' ones are getting pretty ratty. I'd have to find a good deal. And the Elf hand masks sounds funny. I've never done any kind of hand, face, or foot mask personally, but maybe we can take an afternoon of break as a spa day and make our own homemade masks out of yogurt or avocado or whatever people use. Then eat PJ shaped cookies, drink cocoa, and lounge about in last year's pajamas. |
