From a "wear what you want perspective" I love dark colors on women with shorter nails who have an edgy vibe. It's so attractive. |
Are you a man or a woman? |
+1 |
| No gel. Just do a clear polish. |
|
OPI Samoan Sand for neutral.
Chanel Shantung (red) or Chanel Vendetta (dark purple) |
+1. It's my new favorite! |
lol. I paint my nails for me, not you (and your boring sense of style). |

If it’s just for one event - try out a couple of different shades of neutrals in the salon.
I’ve been playing around with fun colors and have been surprised by what looks really good (blue-green, who knew!), along with a few fails (a supposedly neutral sparkly champagne color that made me look like an aged Hooters waitress). |
| Here’s a thought - most salons offer pretty inexpensive polish change services. So I say get a manicure and pick out the shade that calls to you. If it doesn’t work, no worries, change it up the next day. You can also pick out a few options and have the manicurist switch if you don’t like the one you try first. |
That one has too much of a yellow undertone for me. I look better with something that has more red or blue even if it is not “neutral.” |
| OPI Bubble Bath, but just one coat of color (topped with clear)! |
To YOU. My SO loves it when I wear a dark wine or maroon nail color. |
| Neutrals - summer I go a little more pinky and winter I go more beigey. Christmas I get red. Topical vacation I get more of a bright/hot pink. |
