whats the point of a 10 minute detention

That is a very slight punishment, but they are at least sending a warning albeit not too big.

Which adult did the detention with him? I’d imagine it’s because teachers have contracted hours and they aren’t going to stay for free to babysit after school. We are allowed to leave 10 minutes after dismissal begins per our contract. I have a second job as do other teachers so I can’t stand and no admin would ever ask us.

Our MS has a resource officer to run the detention.
