| She can go but no complaining if it hits the fan and she can't get out. |
Do you mean that it’s horrible to speak the truth? Fortunately many around the world have the courage to do so. You should try it. |
Good for them. |
Jew here I agree. |
No, not particularly. |
| It kills me that pro-Israel , anti Palestinian people will claim Israel is at WAR , they’re being ATTACKED, it’s defending itself from evil invaders at all times, yet then they’ll also go there for luxury vacations. |
+1. The hypocrisy and ignorance from otherwise smart people is unreal. |
It's literally a war-zone. When the friend booked it, there was no cease-fire, and who knows how long that will last. |
Most of actual Israel is not a war zone. The war happened entirely in Gaza, and people continued to visit from overseas even during the missile exchanges with Iran. Is the OP’s complaint about visiting dangerous places, or about appearing to support Israel’s conduct of the war? I strongly suspect it’s the latter. |
What's the problem? It's safe. The IDF is effective while the attackers are hapless and for all practical purposes inconsequential even if they are infrequently able to kill a random innocent civilian. There's no greater risk to tourists in Israel than there is in dozens of other countries which pose some degree of risk from crime or random terrorism. |

What you are trying to ask is this- is your friend who is planning a fun trip with friends coming across as being tone deaf because of all the controversy? She is not tone deaf if she doesn't view Israel as an aggressor, and to you, you've learned that about your friend. So the trip isn't the issue, it's your relationship with her.
