Most neighborhoods in McLean do not have HOAs.

Many of them do have protective covenants. You can pull the property title records at the county office for free.

Yes, and many of those covenants now are unenforceable. If this matters, then ask an attorney about the specific covenants.

Yes, this is possible, but covenants are something to keep in mind if don’t want apartment towers ruining your neighborhood.

It is not going to happen to Kurtz road, Julia Avenue, and Brawner street in McLean where politicians live. This is why I love living in McLean because there is no HOA.

Apartment towers in Mclean are built around Tysons and in DT Mclean next to amenities and bus stops, there is no demand for them in the middle of some cul-de-sac or deep into the suburban grid with no sidewalks

How do you know politicians live there? Is there some "beverly hills celebrity map" for each area of DC metro?

Searching your parameters on homes.com returns half a dozen houses if you increase the price range to 2.75 on the assumption you could negotiate down to your budget. This seems to fit the bill: https://www.homes.com/property/6634-brawner-st-mclean-va/p061sm63hj612/?l=qn0njw00x0srl

That’s kind of a weird question. I live in DC and know where several politicians live near me, including one senator on my block. People know these things.

This house is located on a huge slope though that lot size is good. The backyard is unusable.

I know that area and if any politicians live there they are keeping a low profile, which politicians tend not to do.

Lawyers, doctors, consultants, trade association executives, private equity partners, the grandson of a reported billionaire? Yep. They live in that neighborhood. Politicians? Haven't seen them.
