AI could replace 100M jobs by 2035. Are you talking to DCs about “safe” majors?

So who’s going to be paying us? Do these billionaires not get that their money comes from selling products and services? If people don’t have jobs or money, what’s the point of buying their stuff? It’s never good that people are getting poorer, especially since we already have a demographic crisis

What every happen to the meta virtual reality where everyone would wear an optical headset and float around the office as avatars. Some of this cutting edge tech is way over blown. The people pushing this have to because they dumped $100s of billions into not it. Get ready for the market crash once these companies have to start paying back the money.

I think they're full of it here. We just an issue where I work with translation work that was clearly done by a machine. It's understanding of context and intent is nil, so it doesn't know how to pick the correct word to use when there are multiple possibilities. You need a human to do it right.

AI books are getting trashed in reviews on Amazon and goodreads.

Customers and clients are furious when they can't talk to a human.

Gen AI has a place, but it'll take time for us to figure out exactly where it can do good work and be trusted.

As AI gets more sophisticated, it will be more effective than any human in customer service. I find conversing with a well developed chatbot much more succinct and feel my question is always interpreted more effectively and their answers easy and clear to understand. Of course, it depends on what product you are getting service on.

The AI bubble is real and really big.
When it pops, market will go down 20%.

My kid is doing what she always planned to do...some sort of medical work, either MD or PA depending on how she does in pre-med. She wants human contact, and AI won't be able to replace that. She also plans to learn about machine learning and how to develop and use agents so that when she does enter the workforce, she will be prepared to use the tools at her disposal.

Up to this point in the topic your daughter seems to be following the safest path.

I would suggest others avoid accounting and computer science.

I just saw an article the other day that suggested the AI bubble is many times larger than the dot com and real estate one’s were.

Companies are putting too many eggs in this basket. Their own employees are sounding the alarm, but execs want to have the new toy.

Choreogrophers?!? How on earth are they projecting the 5 year growth for that? lol

Some jobs will be lost, some will be created. Just another chicken little story.
