| I think that OP's family is new to America's public schools. Please be kind and just let her know that teachers have contract hours and are low-paid, and that buses are for students who attend after school clubs. |
Is this sarcasm? |
No, why would it be? |
Teachers don't get paid to run clubs. |
| Teacher may have to get home to their own kids, not their job to stay late. Your child could make up the work over lunch period or the resource period. |
🤦♀️ There after school activities. The teacher is not required to stay. |
Same. I need the extra money to pay bills. |
OP didn't write in broken English. OP is likely just a regular, everyday dolt. |

Parent from MCPS here.
Does FCPS offer a resource class, that would take the place of an elective? My kid had this for years, due to his very slow processing speed. Then he didn't need it anymore, but did spend many lunch periods making up work. |
| Turn your work in on time. |
As others have said, late buses are usually offered for activities. Teacher availability is going to vary by teacher - some offer help after school, others before or at lunch. Admin cannot require a teacher to stay after their contract hours to help your child. |
| Isn't that what the advisory period is for? |
| Another fail |
| Teachers running sports and clubs get a stipend to do so. Thats what the late bus is for. No teacher can be obligated to stay after contract hours unpaid to help your son. |
100% !!! |
