Car is a total loss and need a new one before rental expires

I got mine to get me extra for new set of Michelin and a new battery when mine was totaled by a red light runner. They negotiate with each other for a living.

If you even mention it to your insurance it gets logged in your CLUE report which means future insurers will see it if you want to shop around. They may use it against you and charge a higher premium. Its better if the other drivers insurance accepts responsibility and pays a fair amount and bypassing your insurance completely. Obviously if its not that smooth then you have to get yours involved

I know this is not fair at all, but an insurance adjuster once told me that new tires or maintenance do not add any value to a car.

What state OP? In Virginia NADA is used.

If you don’t want to settle your choices are:

-pay an independent adjuster for an appraisal
- do your own research within a set radius of vehicles SOLD that are nearly identical to yours
