Uber rating 4.79 - ugh

Ha. I just looked and mine is 4.53. I have only had 1 nightmare ride that probably corresponded with the 1, but I have also have some other ratings in the 2-4 range. I am polite and quiet (maybe too quiet?) so the only thing I can think of is maybe because I ask the driver to NOT take the 66 express lanes?? (Not during rush hour and because it would still double the cost of my ride.)

It is probably that. They get pissed if you call them on unprofessional behavior. Like my 1 star ratings are for asking them to pick me up where I actually requested or not driving off before my kid has his seatbelt on.

I hear ya! Mine is 4.77 and I have no idea how. It’s sometimes made it hard to get cars, so I tend to use Lyft more these days.

Yes, that's my pet peeve too. I've had drivers literally start driving off before I've had the door closed and my family had their seatbelts on. As long as you're not below 4.5 or 4.0, I wouldn't sweat it.

Im a driver at night and I’ll rate you poorly if you, slam the door, have open food/drink, if you smell, if you’re talking to someone on speakerphone…if you say something stupid/annoying, if you seem like an ungrateful shi#y person etc

Lol. I don’t think you want to know how many of your fellow drivers do that and more and I still give them 5s or just don’t rate. If you cannot deal with the public maybe you should not drive for Uber.

So I have 19 5-star and 5 4-star ratings.

How does anyone manage a near 5 star rating??

If that’s any consolation, I am 4.74. I am sure I got once (and gave out) a 1 star rating to a crazy driver, and mostly take Ubers when I travel overseas, so that 1 star review will take forever to bounce back.

I just checked and I have 4.9 on Lyft and 4.84 on Uber so I guess Lyft is a better fit for me 😆
