"honey sandwich" That is not healthy. Take him to the grocery store let him pick healthy ingredients for a sandwich. He's hungry! |
Yeah it’s not like the school lunches are that good. If he’s eating them in addition, he’s hungry. |
A hungry kid would eat the PB & honey sandwich, it doesn’t say it’s just a honey sandwich. This kid is not that hungry just spoiled. |
To answer the actual question that was asked, you need to go into your account, go to "My students" and remove them from the account. Then they will no longer be linked and unable to buy food without cash. |
I would just stop packing for a while. And then switch to a thermos with protein rich foods. My kids don't eat sandwiches. But will eat pasta and chicken sausage or ground turkey/rice mix and stews and lentil soups.
Get a big wide mouth thermos. And stop packing snacks like pirate booty. All the salt and then sweet and then salt is messing with his insulin resistance. |
I am weird about sandwiches and can agree with him that a sandwich that is squished and old is so unappetizing. Have him be involved in the lunch process. Maybe leftovers. Maybe a deconstructed sandwich he can put together at lunch (this is DS' go to). In the end, he's getting a lunch (not a second lunch since he's not eating his sandwich) because he doesn't like the food being packed. The way to handle this is have him choose his lunch to bring |
You need to find a hard container for his sandwich so that it doesn’t get swished. Agreed that you need to get his input on lunches. Look into buying a thermos for hot foods. My son did a similar thing, buying lunch on top of a packed lunch. When I talked to him, it was because he also wanted the school chicken nuggets. What I did was bought a better version of chicken nuggets and sent those in. He was happy, and I was happy. |
Seriously? I would never base any parenting off of what professional football players do. Most have literal brain terms, and many come from homes where proper nutrition was likely not taught. |
Brain trauma. Wtf autocorrect. |
The point is it provides quick energy and nutrition for long and difficult practices. Kind of like an active school day with multiple recesses and PE for a kid! Just maybe they need only 1 sandwich instead of 3 or 4 or whatever a grown professional athlete would eat. |
NFL teams have nutritionists on staff who approve and food for the athletes. Post workout meals can be smoothies, quick snacks, like uncrushables, etc. I won’t be quick to dismiss this idea just because they are NFL athletes and you have a limited knowledge of them and are quick to stereotype them. |
The kid doesn't want a sandwich for lunch. He wants hot food. Either pack him better lunch or let him buy. I thought this child is in middle or high school, but it is a poor elementary school kid. He sees all his other friends buying lunch that looks fresh and he’s got a squished sandwich with soggy bread. Especially the honey sandwich must be a complete mush by the time he has lunch. Either do your job and pack him an actual lunch or let him buy. |
Wait, what? What are we basing this fact on? I've never heard this before. Most professional football players come from homes where proper nutrition wasn't taught? |
This is is literally UPF garbage. Any nutritionist who recommends this should have their qualifications reviewed. |
Proper nutrition is not taught in most homes, so this applies to football players as well. |
